insta`tuesday round two {for me at least}. this week's instagram collection is a little less jam`packed when compared to my previous post. nonetheless still pictures that capture the prettiness in life and things that make me smile.

ribbon and fabric scraps organized. makes for a pretty display.

our new sheets from my ikea trip. in the middle of my attempt to make the bed, i left the room for no more than twenty seconds and came back to lynnee testing out the sheets. always helping.

well, hello.

happy beautiful sunday evening. yes, i'm very guilty of not blogging for over two months. life has been overwhelmingly crazy but amazing at the same time. any ounce of free time i've had is spent with that pretty cute husband of mine. here are a few updates from the past sixty~something days..

~1~ we bought a new vacuum. yes this is both BIG and exciting news. we have needed a new vacuum since pretty much the beginning of our marriage...and the boy did some  a ridiculous amount of research, i saved up the coupons and we purchased a beautiful little number called the shark.

~2~ i'm about a month away from completing my first year of grad school {yikes} and i've been swimming in homework this entire semester... hence the two month absence from blogging.

~3~ the boy has gone on a couple of drill weekends and an additional training that gave us more details on the deployment status and dates...yay {said very sarcastically}.

~4~ i've been only listening to gungor radio on pandora and soaking it up.

~5~ instagram is now available for the android...about stinkin' time. so yes, please begin to enjoy my instagram pictures from now on :)

~6~ lastly...we are currently in escrow on a little house { :D } if all goes as planned we should be closing and starting the move a week from today. so needless to say, any spare moment we have has been packing up the apartment.

the boy's trip to the grocery store..the essentials of course and my white lights in a vase, before i packed them.

my spring wreath..again before packing it and lynnee sandwiched between my shirts as i was folding laundry..always being a helper. 

lastly.. our guest bathroom is currently our storage unit..brilliant. the bathtub is full of boxes and now lynnee has her own jungle gym :)

the kind of day off

thursday {as of now} is the day of no class, no student teaching, no work

it's a catch up/attempt to get ahead on assignments kind of day

it's a run errands and pay bills kind of day 

..i feel we can all attest to these kind of 'days off'!

on the flip side...i get to see the boy when he comes home for lunch

i get to smell candles, consume yummy drinks and sweets

and as a bonus...i can stay in my the boy's sweats 

all day long :)

skype

the boy and i probably get to skype between one to three times a week

{depending on our schedules}

some times he watches me do the dishes

other times we attempt to watch an episode of the office on hulu

and tonight he helped me with my crafting

{i'm attempting to do the picture on the wood thing}

i learned everything about a two by eight piece of wood a girl would ever need to know :)

i now know how to buy, cut, sand and talk to the home depot guy.

what would i do without that boy?

phew i made it.

this past week has flown by yet felt like eternity at the same time

how does that even happen??

well here we go, my first...

things i love: thursday

i love candles

i love the smell, the flicker, the glow

oh i love them.

so i found this candle at walmart last month for $4.96

i smelled it and thought 'eh i'll give it a try'

usually i stay away from cheaper candles

but i figured it was martha so i would give her a shot :)

and ooohhh man do i LOVE it!

the second i get home, i light it.

i walk to get the mail and can smell it from my window.

candied caramel pecan...yum.

so a couple days ago i ran by good ole' walmart and picked up more

two candles for under ten dollars...i think YES.

sunday

i woke up this morning with sun streaming in my window, birds chirping and lynnee attacking the mirror on our wardrobe :)  after last nights reflection, i felt it on my heart to take some time to enjoy the little things.

i laid in bed for a half an hour, cuddled with lynnee and talked to my God.

then went to the gym...seriously haven't ran in months and it felt so good!

afterwards i went ran over to the store and bought new toothpaste 

{i accidentally bought the gross flavor last week, tried to ignore it and deal, but just couldn't}

i saw a bouquet of lilies and got them for the house

aren't they pretty and perfect?

i slowly drank and enjoyed my coffee in a pretty cup while getting ready

usually my morning coffee is thrown in a traveling mug

and gulped down on my way teaching

i also took the extra minutes for eye shadow...oh la la

still had some time before church so i played with lynnee

who had been following me around all morning

church was amazing. worship was perfect.

i decided to take the back roads home, so much prettier and curvier than the highway

listened to the music my boy had sent me and drove by all of God's beautiful creation

i saw starbucks on the way home and knew it was time for my salted caramel hot chocolate

i had been waiting for the weather to cool down just a little more...

but today i was going to settle with 70 degrees and get it

oh was it perfection

i asked for a tall salted caramel hot chocolate with extra whip, extra caramel and extra salt

bless her heart she put it in a grande cup to insure my extra amazingness

i couldn't resist and took a sip before taking a picture

i saw this sign and thought it was pretty cute... :)

came home, lit a candle and it's homework time

still doing it now...just took a little break

it was so refreshing taking that little time off, away from the worries of homework

putting God first and taking sometime for myself

my homework has been whizzing by...seriously all my readings made sense, my responses and papers have been just flowing perfectly. i'm actually caught up on what's due this week already and working on getting ahead right now. life is so much easier when God comes first.

oh, plus the boy had an extra duty day and studying

but

we still got to have some skype time and watched our favorite show

parks and recreation together.

yup, today was pretty amazing and renewing. just what i needed. 

he knows me...

too well. 

in between shifts today i decided to check the mail

...my poor, neglected mail box...

and there i found the key that means i have a package :)

oh yes, a package from my boy.

now many would think...a water bottle???

however

 i'm kind of a nerd when it comes to water bottles

and a little obsessed when it comes to my water.

now let me tell you...this water bottle is

pink

camelbak (love)

has a built in water filter

which means my long fourteen hour days can be filled with filtered water all day long.

can you tell i'm pretty in love with it??

my boy is the best.

seriously best gift ever.

he knows me all too well

george's coffee

half way through my three hour lecture i looked down at my coffee...

george???

instantly a huge smile on my face.

there were no boys in the coffee house, i know this because i was eavesdropping on the only two girls in front of me :)

it was a phone dying, only got to text the boy twice kind of day. 

not sure how or why george made it to my cup.

but

i am so glad it did.

thank goodness for the small things.

perfect 'pick me up'

I was beginning to drag during a break from one of my workshops at school. My caffeine was wearing off, my tummy was grumbling and my mind was trying to wrap around the mound of homework. My dear friend noticed my glazed over stare and said "I know just what you need".
She pulled out her phone and here you have it.

OHMYGOODNESS. Can we seriously all start our mornings off like this?!
