so i've been married for about two and a half years, which means i've been an owner of a crock pot for that time. AND yes, i'm guilty of only using it twice. i don't know why but it's just always been so intimidating to me. but it's 2012 and time to get over it and start cooking. school starts back up in about three weeks and the hectic schedule will begin again. what's different about this semester, is that the boy is home from a-school, so microwavable diet meals aren't going to cut anymore for dinner. i've been researching simple crock pot recipes and found four that require five ingredients or less...yes FIVE. awww music to my ears, easy and inexpensive :) i'll be spending the next few weeks experimenting with these recipes and others...and will let you know how it turns out! each title has a link to the recipe, if you're interested in checking them out.
okay obviously not a crock pot recipe but it's healthy, easy and pretty.
ps...any fun crock pot recipes? please share!
The easiest crock pot recipe:
ReplyDelete2 frozen chicken breast
container of salsa
packet of taco seasoning
Cook all day, shred in pot... Easy chicken for tacos, quesadillas, burritos or use for enchiladas. Seriously the best chicken ever and you can experiement with different types of salsa....
This is also the best:

I have yet to use my crockpot either. I plan on using it a ton as soon as I get set up again. My grandma bought me a whole recipe book on crock pot recipes that have less than 5 ingredients. As soon as I find some favorites of mine I'll be sure to share!
ReplyDeletemmmmm, those sweet and tangy meatballs look GREAT.
ReplyDeletegosh.
i don't make mine in a crock pot, but still... :) :)
If you can buy your chicken or steak (whatever meat you prefer) in bulk, and tons of veggies you love spend a day chopping them all and putting them into ziplock bags and freezing them. Then you can just pull them out the night before put in the fridge, put in the crockpot with whatever seasoning you prefer and tada!!! fast and easy if you do the prep work ahead of time.
ReplyDeletethese pictures are making me hungry! especially that pineapple chicken. mmm.
ReplyDeletegood luck on your crockpot endeavors! ;)
